Attack Volleyball Club Code of Conduct
EXPECTATIONS OF PLAYERS
Commitment:
Just showing up for practice is not enough. Attack Volleyball requires players who are punctual, prepared to work hard, and listens to specific direction from coaching staff. If you take this opportunity seriously, you will be successful.
Attendance:
Attack Volleyball understands that it is not realistic to expect all players to attend every practice. However, it is important to attend as many practices as possible. What you put into this opportunity, is ultimately what you will get out of it. We require 24-hour notice to your coach when you are aware that you will miss practice.
Representation:
How you represent yourself, your family, your school, and Attack Volleyball Club is very important. Our club prides itself on having good sportsmanship, a positive attitude, and integrity by our players, coaches, and parents. For those who wish to pursue a college volleyball experience, you may not know when a college recruiter is at a tournament, therefore it is important to display appropriate behavior at all times.
Maintaining Good Grades:
Attack Volleyball Club believes that education should be the student athlete’s #1 priority. Maintaining good grades is necessary to remain in good standing with the club. Keeping your grades up will help you succeed on and off the court.
EXPECTATIONS OF PARENTS
Attack Volleyball Club believes that parent involvement is essential to the success of the student athlete, as well as the club itself. We encourage parent involvement regularly, just coming to watch the team, spending time in the club or staying involved with the tournaments and clinics are a huge show of encouragement for the athletes.
Your involvement is critical in the following ways:
Dropping off and picking up your child from practices and tournaments on time.
Helping with transportation of players to and from tournaments.
Positive and encouraging interaction with both your daughter, and her teammates.
Refraining from all negative comments and actions, when referring to coaches, teammates, families, and the club.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THE ATTACK VOLLEYBALL CLUB:
It is our goal to deliver an exceptional volleyball experience for you and your daughters. We want your experience to be both positive and rewarding. We recognize that with any type of team sport, it will be difficult to please everyone involved 100% of the time. You can expect that our coaches are competent, and will treat you and your daughters with respect. You can expect that your daughter’s safety and well being is of utmost importance to Attack Volleyball. You can expect that we will provide everything that you have been promised, and that the club staff will be approachable and will return phone calls and emails within a timely basis.
PLAYING TIME PHILOSOPHY:
Parents and players need to understand that it may not be possible to guarantee equal playing time for all players, regardless of team philosophy. It is our intent that all players contribute as much as possible with the intent of learning first and winning second. Understand that it is our goal to win tournaments, but not at the expense of teaching and maintaining a team oriented program. Basically, we want to win, but it is more important for each player to learn the necessary skills to better equip them for their future in the sport.
IF A PARENT OR PLAYER QUESTIONS THE AMOUNT OF PLAYING TIME THE ATHLETE RECEIVES, OR HAS ANY OTHER CONCERNS IN REGARDS TO THE CLUB, WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO EMAIL THOSE CONCERNS TO ATTACKVOLLEYBALL@COURTONE.COM, OR CONTACT CLUB DIRECTOR JODI MCMILLAN (517) 812-8086.
