Pickleball Open Play Guidelines
Court One Open Play is designed to provide a fun, social, and organized environment where players can enjoy games with a variety of partners and opponents.
As participation continues to grow, these guidelines help us manage attendance, keep wait times reasonable, and provide the best possible experience for everyone.
Registration
Preregistration is required for all open play sessions.
- Members may register up to 3 days in advance.
- Non-members may register beginning the day of the session.
- Registration is available through the Court One app or by calling Court One.
- Walk-in participation is not guaranteed and may not be available when a session is full.
We strongly encourage everyone to register before arriving.
Preregistration allows us to anticipate attendance, manage court availability, and make the check-in process faster so players can get onto the courts as quickly as possible.
Check-In
All players must check in when they arrive before participating in open play.
If you have not arrived or contacted Court One within 30 minutes after the scheduled start time, your registration may be forfeited and made available to another player.
If you know you are going to be late, please call us and let us know.
Open Play Capacity
Each open play session has a designated capacity based on available courts and the expected player-to-court ratio.
Once a session reaches capacity, additional players may not be admitted.
A player leaving early does not create an available spot for another player. Capacity is established for the entire session to help maintain reasonable wait times and an enjoyable experience.
There is no waitlist for open play.
If a registered player has not arrived or contacted Court One within 30 minutes after the scheduled start time, their registration may be forfeited. At that point, the newly available registration spot may be offered to another player.
Open Play Start Times
Open play courts become available at the scheduled start time.
Please refrain from arriving significantly early with the expectation of beginning play before the session starts. Courts may be in use for reservations, lessons, leagues, rentals, or other programming immediately beforehand.
Skill Levels
Please register for an open play session appropriate for your playing level.
Skill-level designations are intended to provide competitive and enjoyable games for everyone participating. If you’re unsure which session is right for you, please ask a member of our pickleball staff.
Sportsmanship & Court Etiquette
We ask all participants to help create a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable environment.
Players are expected to:
- Treat other players and staff respectfully.
- Demonstrate good sportsmanship.
- Respect the designated skill level of the session.
- Follow instructions from Court One staff.
- Avoid unnecessary delays between games.
- Follow all posted Court One policies.
Consistent Guidelines
Our staff will apply these guidelines consistently across open play sessions.
Maintaining consistent policies helps us treat players fairly, manage attendance, reduce wait times, and provide a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and look forward to seeing you on the courts.
